- The biggest pay-out ever from any online gaming company in the world
- 36-year-old cleaner wins £79 million on second bet with Lottoland
Leading online lotto operator, Lottoland has today announced that a lucky winner in Germany scooped Friday’s (1st of June 2018) EuroJackpot top prize of €90 million (£79 million).
This win is the largest prize pay-out for any online gaming company in the world, and the biggest pay-out for Lottoland to date.
The winner, Christina, a 36-year-old cleaner from Berlin, had put a bet on the EuroJackpot jackpot via her mobile. Her mother chose the five lucky numbers (14, 19, 21, 30, 32) and the two Euro numbers (4 and 7) which matched and bagged her record breaking win.
She must be one of the luckiest Lottoland players on record as she only signed up to Lottoland two weeks ago via her mobile, she won €8.60 on her first bet and then the life changing jackpot the following week.
The Berliner found out she had won while working on her late cleaning shift. She is now going to quit her job, allow her mother to retire and hire a motor-home which she will drive from the East to West coast of America.
The trip will culminate in a Backstreet Boys concert, although she has to get her driving licence before she does that – which is something she hasn’t been able to afford to do before.
On her big win, she said “I’ve always wanted to travel and visit new countries and places – the USA has always been at the top of my list and now I can plan a trip from the East to the West coast in a camper van. I can’t wait!”
Lottoland CEO Nigel Birrell called the win a ‘landmark’ moment for the online gaming industry: “More and more players from around the world are waking up to the fact that they can bet on the biggest jackpots the world has to offer at Lottoland.”
“This record €90 million win is a break-through moment both for our business and the industry as a whole, as it is the largest jackpot pay-out ever across the online gaming and lotto industry. We look forward to breaking more records in the future.”
Lottoland allows players to bet on the world’s biggest lotteries, with the opportunity to win all the same prizes – including the jackpot. Major draws available at Lottoland include US PowerBall and US MegaMillions, EuroMillionaire, Spain’s El Gordo and many more from Europe and across the globe.
Lottoland is able to offer its customers access to these huge jackpots thanks to its own insurance infrastructure, which is regulated by the Financial Services Commission (“FSC”) in accordance with EU insurance legislation. Lottoland is the first and only company in the gaming sector to have established its own insurance company – holding itself up to the highest standards with regards to industry best practice and transparency.
Lottoland’s risk management structure has already proven its reliability by making several multi millionaires already, but this record breaking win eclipses them all.
Other operators can also benefit from Lottoland’s unique lottery insurance solution thanks to Lottoland’s B2B arm Lottoland Solutions. Lottoland Solutions guarantees pay outs on all winnings and offers a lottery betting interface that is easy to integrate into existing websites.
