Gibraltar-based lottery betting operator Lottoland has been unveiled as the new sponsor of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, which returns to British TV screens for a week of episodes beginning Saturday.

Marking the 20th anniversary of the hit game show, ITV will air seven hour-long episodes of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, which will be hosted by new presenter Jeremy Clarkson who replaces Chris Tarrant.

The show will offer members of the public the chance to win £1m by answering 15 questions, with contestants helped by lifelines Ask the Audience, Phone a Friend, 50:50, and a new fourth lifeline Ask the Host, which gives contestants the opportunity to ask Clarkson how he would answer the question at hand.

“We are very proud to be sponsoring the new series of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire,” said Lottoland CEO Nigel Birrell. “With Jeremy Clarkson taking over the driving seat of the series, it is sure to be a hit.

“Who Wants to Be a Millionaire has created five millionaires in its 20 years, so we are in the same business of giving people the chance to win big. We are looking forward to working with ITV and Who Wants to Be a Millionaire on doing what we at Lottoland do best – giving players a fun and rewarding experience while they take their chance to become a millionaire.”
